TEHRAN, Jul. 15 (MNA) – Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA) authorities have said that the terminal 1 of the airport is poised to dispatch about 27,000 Hajj pilgrims.

Tehran Imam Khomeini Airport City's (IKAC) Deputy Director of Administrative Affairs Ali Rostami said on Sunday that the airport will start dispatching the Hajj pilgrims on Wednesday July 18th and the process will continue until Wednesday August 15th.

Rostami said that the return of the pilgrims from Jeddah airport will start on the 25th of August and will continue until the 13th of September.

Saying that special halls and corridors are allocated for the Hajj pilgrims, he said that according to the plans, two airline companies of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia have set aside 95 flights for dispatching the Hajj pilgrims from the provinces of Tehran, Semnan, Qazvin, Qom, Lorestan, Alborz, Markazi and the city of Kashan.

Earlier this month, another Iranian official Seyed Mehdi Razavi had said that the first flight of Iranian Hajj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia will be conducted from four airports of Ahwaz, Bushehr, Mashhad and Imam Khomeini.

This year, about 85,000 Iranian Hajj pilgrims will leave for Saudi Arabia from 19 airports in the country.
